As far as researching me/pe the only things this will effect would be ships as for modules all the ones I currently invent make plenty of profit already and if given the ability to research them would probably cost more then it would be worth to do so however for ships and the few other things that positive me would help would be nice to at least have the ability to do so would be up to each individual whether or not they would and yes it is possable prices could come down but if so could take a long time for example jump freighter with best chance decrypter would be -5 me to research to 1 me at pos would take 300 days 50 days for each me level but by doing so would save 55% of materials/run so you would save about 2.75 ships worth of cost but you would holding onto the bpc and researching for almost a year for black ops would be about a month to get to +1 me also if it took over 1000 invention jobs to have a chance of getting a bpo some invention jobs take days to complete so even if doing all lines on 1 item full time could take years to get a bpo that is not going to make t2 production like t1 also t1 has most modules dropped from mission loot which will change next expansion

Originally by: Emporer Norton In my opinion there are a few things that could be done as far as t2 bpos and none of them affect bpo's. 1st: allow invention from bpo's producing a t2 bpo at very low chance say no more then 10% although if this is done either destroy the bpo or have a chance of destruction if unsucessful
No. This would eventually render the invention process itself irrelevant because everyone would have BPOs, at which point T2 production would basically suffer from the same problems that much of T1 production suffers from.
Quote: 2nd: give a small chance say 1 in 1000 or less for any invention job to produce bpo instead of bpc
Same problem as above.
Quote: 3rd: allow researching bpc to improve me/pe even if only at a pos 4th: fix invention so able to invent with a positive me/pe
There is nothing problematic about the ME/PE of invention, and this would not, in any way, improve profit.
If you could produce with positive ME, so could everyone else, so prices would come down and you'd be right back where you started.
"But but but BPOs, positive ME, whinewhinewhiiiiine!"
Thing is, BPOs don't produce nearly enough units to meet the demand, so you're not really competing against them. They're just getting a better margin at the same price. The pricepoint is determined by inventors. If everyone is inventing with positive ME, you do NOT make more profit - everything just gets cheaper.
